Setting up Postfix TLS / Dovecot IMAP for an iPhone: (in progress)
* You want secure send / recieve to and from the phone
* Postfix TLS (what used to be called SSL) will open up port 587 to allow secure sending.

Dovecot IMAP will allow you to read your mailboxes. This opens port 993 for secure reading.

You may need to reset your network settings on the iPhone to get this to stick at some point:

Try going to settings>email>your email account and delete the account.
Now go to settings>general>reset and reset network settings, and the iphone should power down and back on.
Once the iphone restarts, add your email account back to the iphone.

				Hope this helps.

If you have an iPhone, and charge it off of computers other than the machine that has your iTunes on it, XP can tend to shut off power to USB ports that aren't actively being used. Start->Settings->Control Panel->Computer Management, look for the Device Manager in the tree on the left side, with the iphone plugged in search the properties of each USB Root Hub under Universal Serial Bus Controllers to find which one it is suckling power from on their Power Tabs. The one it is using, turn off the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" checkbox under the Power Management tab.
